YTL foray into ISP could possibly be at consumer's advantage.

It's been ages since I wrote something here. Actually it was an unannounced sabbatical. The scene was getting really boring and saturated with really stupid issues so before I became of of those who was desperate enough to write about stupid issues I gave blogging a break. Not that I bother if my readership drops since I earn almost nothing for each visit of your anyway.

YTL is diversifying into the ISP business. 4G to be exact. So we already have a handful of providers and now comes another one. Some speculate that there will be a price war looming once YTL gets up to speed. But can we directly see internet fees dropping below RM100 and yet maintain high speeds? If there is one thing that all of our ISP are short changing us is consistency. Most will claim at best effort basis and that happens how often?

There is a simple problem. There is only so much the market can hold and with YTL the market becomes more brittle. Very few have multiple internet accounts... perhaps to most the minority only subscribe services from 2 ISP. One for home use and the other for mobile use. I know many can't leave home without checking on their various farms and armies online. Owh not to forget the cam-whoring blogger types.

But if there is a scant possibility that internet fees dip far below the RM100 per month for 1Mb all the better. Then perhaps we could pressure the providers to remove the stupid fair usage policy? Even if majority of us do not exceed the allocation but it would be nice to know that it is no longer there. Let the ISP fight~ then we shall wait and see who has the most bang for our Ringgit.

Could there be a civic divide between races in this country? I suspect there is so since the numerous reports of abandoned babies seem to by majority involved non-married Malay couples. Coincidently they are I assume Muslims too. The Baby Hatch launched by the government seems not to be helping much either because the location is not as convenient as just dumping a baby in a garbage bin or the public in general has no idea that it exists.

I do seriously think one other way to tackle these irresponsible couples is by actually giving them harsher sentences. But in order to do that is the need to trace them first. More go missing than being found and we would not know if there are repeat offenders. God! How can one dispose a baby once and then do it again the next time is beyond my comprehension.

To be objective the disposal of unwanted babies is murder (if the baby is found dead) or attempted murder if the baby is found alive but in such a deplorable state. I think the case would be different if the baby is left in a mosque or some public area where someone would not take too long to notice.

It is indeed everyone's responsibility to ensure such cases do not happen. However it surely boils down to the education and upbringing of these unwed couples. Some might be legally married too but too poor to afford to raise a child. Whatever the reasons may be there must be a mechanism where we as a society can help out these struggling couples or at least the baby. Honestly this is a kind of social epidemic that may grow to be detrimental to all of us if we do not actively do something about it.

Lembaga Pembangunan Pelaburan Malaysia. Yep that is the new name. But what is even more interesting is a special board to approve foreign investments for anything more than 1 Billion Ringgit. What this board is suppose to do it to cut the red tape for fast approval without the need to go through the Finance Ministry and MTen.

So, they claim it can speed up approval and get the foreign funds in faster and fatter than ever before. Certainly it all sounds pretty dandy if you ask me. But how would it improve employment of the locals? Just like how the MSC does not place a limit on the hiring of foreign skilled workers to a certain degree kills the market for our locals. On top of that for the same position locals are paid marginally lower than their foreign co-workers.

For the amount of investment sure translates to higher GDP and most importantly GDI to certain extremities but would it translate to the little ones? And hopefully the new act specific for this would and should impose such rules to limit the intake of foreign skilled workers and give locals a far better chance. Not only business should have higher co-ownership with locals but also covers the entire workforce in key departments and positions.

The verdict to the murder case of a maid was welcomed by many. From what I can tell the Indonesian government seem not to let this go until justice is served for their citizen who was literally tortured to death. The Malaysian government too can't take the case too lightly as the thought of loosing foreign workers sends chills down many spines.

But what does this all mean? Would there be a specific law for foreign workers in general? The government has a responsibility not only towards Malaysians but to the foreigners working in the country as well. I could not imagine our economy could survive without the help of foreign workers since Malaysians themselves are picky about their jobs.

I laud any move by the government to quickly have a law on protecting the rights of foreign workers and be detailed terms as to the length and fringe benefits that one is entitled to. It will be an act of good faith on our part to be responsible employers rather than the likes of the dead man walking.

Orientation week = Ragging

As a new semester starts in public universities we shall see the future of our nation in the hands of the education system for the next 5 years. But what defines this period is the induction or orientation week held for the first week of the semester. After the freak case involving an RMC student, the government is cautious and is paying extra attention to other public institutions across the country.

So it is proven when only something bad has happened that the authorities will want to take some sort of action. Typical them, poor us. However I must say that this culture of ragging (organized bullying) is so irrelevant since there is no specific standard and is totally up to the seniors to run the show. This has it's good and bad. One the officials of higher education need not spend time on the program and get on to other tasks. Second, seniors have some fun time to somewhat revenge what happened to them when they were the underlings.

However I think ragging is an essential part of character building. It is something like a boot camp to quickly build mental strength to make it trough the years ahead in varsities. Some kids make it while some do not. Some develop better interpersonal skills while some timid into isolation. In other words there is not a set syllabus or program to properly mold these kids and quantify the success rate of the orientation week.

Then there is the part where sometimes there are seniors that just go overboard. Resorting to physical violence and mental torture which the sole purpose is to humiliate and degrade the poor kids as much as possible. Sometimes even violating basic human rights. My idea is that a standard law of conduct has to be drawn formally by a central body. The ministry of Higher Education should take this to task. Station officers throughout the orientation week in all public and private tertiary institutions just to oversee that everything goes accordingly. But the most importantly it will be a place for the freshies to submit complaints of improper conduct by the seniors during the programme.

The government should consider this as it does address the concern of undergraduates being treated properly and the universities for benchmark their orientation week programme. We would not want to development mentally disturbed youths now do we?

Auctioned vehicle registration number is a sign of a recovering economy?

Amusing is one word to associate to this news report. Apparently the number of bids on a good vehicle registration number is a sign of buying power and that translates to a recovering economy. Maybe there is a tiny bit of truth there. But I do believe that that can't be used as a tangible indicator of our economy's performance thus far. And how many individuals actually bid for such things is just a tiny percentile of the working population.

I do take that the Chinese take their numbers seriously and even a smaller number take their vehicle registration number even more seriously than others. There is a also a trend amongst other races in this but in such small numbers that it can be neglected in this observation.

However I am puzzled as to why some might want to spend a fortune on a number for their vehicle? Some say it brings luck. Well OK, we do have that culture. But for Tens of thousands and sometimes even hundreds of thousands of Ringgit? How lucky can a number get? I think the RTD are the lucky ones.

To me wasting such amounts of money on an intangible asset like vehicle registration numbers is not wise. But as we all know, money to some is nothing while to others is everything. So go figure.

Why are the Zionist still very healthy?

Putting aside to what happened off the shores of Gaza recently I would want to actually put attention to the source of the problem. Referring to the Israeli government which many call Zionist (it sounds like profanity if you ask me) why are they still healthy and no one dares to put a stop to the injustice. My question is to the rest of the world.

What does it take for everyone to gather the balls to stop this particular nation from terrorizing Palestinians? I am sorry if some think that it is not the Jew's fault. But the fact is that the majority that takes great lengths to torture the less fortunate and snatch the birthrights of another nation are very very much as Jew as it can possibly be.

This is not a war about territory, it is not war about wealth, but it is war about the right to live. Above all else the many barbaric acts by the Zionist is towards Muslims. It is so specific that I bet if one is a Jew but stays in Palestine the Israelis would most certainly launch an offensive just to get that one idiot back on Israeli's side of the border.

Now what are the Muslim nations doing? What is OIC doing? There was once a time when a man named Yasser Araffat championed for Palestinian freedom. Now he is no more.... so does that mean the effort to protect the Palestinians does not fall on other Muslim nations? I am saddened that the Middle East Oil producing nations are just washing their hands in this matter because their trades are with the Zionist's supporters and financiers.

I believe the UN can't do shit because the structure of the UN favours the allies of Israel. The next strongest group of countries when put together are the OIC. The world's economy actually revolves around the natural resource that they have which god has given not only to share with but also as leverage to favour Muslims the world over when in times of need.

So why are the Zionist still very healthy? Simple, because the Muslim nations refuse to do anything. The Prime Ministers, Kings and Syahs are too happy to just rake in the money from the sale of black gold. Why aren't Muslims united in all sense? Why only unite in saying the same thing~ release a press statement condemning the Zionist and thats it? That is all they can do? Ask someone to write a press statement? Lame News: PM visits Police Station.

After many many years yesterday's news on television was indeed the most boring ever. Half of the local news was about the PM visiting a police station. Ok fine, so we see that PM is paying attention to the little people on the street but there is not a big deal to it now is there?

The news dragged on to finally the PM leaving the country to VIENTIANE. OWhhh.... ahhhh..... a day in the life of a Prime Minister. Then there was the whole thing about how much crime in PJ has gone down. Simply because all the available police force in PJ are on rounds in the area of jurisdiction and their clerical and administrative work has been handled by civil servants. Yeahhh.... good one.

Let me get this straight, so a police goes out on his rounds and returns to report in an incident. All he or she does is whip out his cheapo note pad and starts scribbling details then returns to the station and pass it to the civil servant and types out the report for the said officer. Great! All that IT training for police officers paid by us taxpayers has just gone to waste. Owh well you cant win them all right?

Please lah..... there is more happening in the country than just our PM walking around PJ Damansara and getting his armpits all sweaty.

60:40 Kampung Baru Redevelopment

I personally have an attachment to the said place. In fact part of my childhood took place in that area, to be specific my great grandparent's house. Honestly then the place petrified me. The busy wet market and the numerous loitering drug addicts in the late 90s kept me pretty much occupied indoors.

Now this I hear that the government wants to re-develop that area. Into what it has been proposed and into what in the end it will be I have my sincere doubts. But re-development does not mean it is for the good for sure. The many plots of land are now owned by second and some even third generation descendants from the original owners.

So imagine the many plots that have been subdivided amongst siblings. Some to 2 while on average 5 co-owners per plot. From what I gather the plots of property is worth millions. So one can imagine that there are tussles on whether to sell off or to wait for the price to be offered up by unscrupulous parties who sees Kampung Baru as a diamond in the rough.

Honestly I am no Malay extremist. Nor do I really care much on what they do to Kampung Baru. But if family values is to go by this 60:40 scheme of joint redevelopment is indeed causing a bit of a headache. It is after all Malay Reserved land. Which means apart from the high value Kampung Baru holds a much bigger agenda in the stench of the wet market.

Some cry foul over the proposal of joint development between Malays and non-Malays. Some thinks that Kampung Baru is in desperate need for refurbishment partly to clean it's image and revitalize the commerce activity of that area. Honestly for such a small stretch of road it is causing such a commotion.

Families will be forced to sell their property because the value is so premium. Developers wants that pie so bad because they know it is a gold mine. I could smell dirty politicians plotting their schemes to make a lucrative buck, not to mention cunning businessmen hooking pinky finger with politicians.

For whatever the reason it may be Kampung Baru should be redeveloped. One it is full of history. It is iconic, and it sticks to many hearts of those who grew up in that area. The disputes of to sell or not is not really in an observer's hands. Malay reserve was and I repeat was a right and on top of that a privilege. But times have changed and money seems to be the cause and root of all change. Land owners have their right to sell but for heaven's sake keep in mind Kampung Baru is filled with history good and bad. Perhaps turning it into a heritage site would be good for everyone.

Malaysians may be quite surprised to know that the First Lady is no longer the Raja Permaisuri Agong, as in the Federal Constitution of Malaysia, but Rosmah Mansor, as in the Prime Minister’s wife.

Article 32 of the Federal Constitution of Malaysia says:

1. (1) There shall be a Supreme Head of the Federation, to be called the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, who shall take precedence over all persons in the Federation and shall not be liable to any proceedings whatsoever in any court.

2. (2) The Consort of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong (to be called the Raja Permaisuri Agong) shall take precedence next after the Yang di-Pertuan Agong over all other persons in the Federation.

In short, Article 32.2(2) of the Constitution means that the Raja Permaisuri Agong is the First Lady of Malaysia. And it costs just RM10 million to amend the Federal Constitution of Malaysia to make the wife of the Prime Minister the new First Lady.

Now this is a shocker.... PR disaster or it is on purpose?

It is either political culture or is it tradition that allocation of millions of Ringgit goes out to constituency of by elections. From Hulu Selangor RM3 million to a chinese school and now a sum off RM18 million to several schools in Sibu this move by Najib is very peculiar and the motives are questionable. Why is it that large sums of money is available and is dispersed easily during by elections and not trough proper channels of the Ministry of Finance to the relevant Ministries?

Upgrade of education facilities is the responsibility of the government and it is not a gift come by elections unless the funds are of course from other sources. Where does all this money come from is not clearly stated and the manner in which it is given out can be blatant vote buying.

Yet no one says anything about it or perhaps all the reports against it is blanked out by the pro-BN media. Anyway... it is good for the schools. Now they can properly plan for better facilities and activities for the kids. But that does not mean their parents will vote for BN.

It seems to be hard to get an apology these days. Is there really red tape surrounding the issue to give out a press statement and apologizing publicly? The Home Ministry and the Police in my opinion has really bad PR. The proof is there that a civil servant shot a boy with no criminal record whatsoever and even if the boy was at wrong is it so hard to just say sorry?

Somehow I am pretty surprised that there is no indication that the family of Aminulrasyid wants to sue yet. Which if their patience wears thin and statement of apology over the matter is not given I do think sooner or later they might just want to sue PDRM and even the Home Ministry. So just to avoid such PR disaster and make matters worse just say bloody sorry. Unless of course egos are on the line then I can only say PDRM and the Home Ministry are pricks.

Legalization of Sports Betting in Malaysia.

I would like to pose a question to all the ministers in cabinet, is Malaysia an Islamic State? From the recent but brief reign of Tun Pak Lah I somewhat remember that everyone in the ruling party camp vehemently promotes that Islam is the official Religion and Malaysia is an Islamic State. Even boldly stated to be one and whole along side other Islamic States in the world. Unless I missed a part stated somewhere that all PR done by a previous Prime Minister is null and void and the current government and PM does not carry the same virtue (even when all this time they are from the same camp). Clearly not very 1 Malaysia right?

Gambling in this country is a sticky issue. Not many companies are given privilege to run such activities legally. But since the World Cup is around the corner someone thought it might just be a bloody good idea to make Sports Betting legal. It does not take a preacher to tell you that it's a downhill road from there onwards. So I am not going to preach, not that much at least.

Gambling among other things is the start to many moral and social degradation. Do we need to see more "investors" wasting their hard earned money that a healthy economy provides into a pool of spinning luck? Fine, there are odds that can be calculated but what does that tell you? There will always be 2 sides of the coin. Generally when there are those winning there will be even more loosing. What happens then? The balance of economy shifts and creates a divide.... Happy and Miserable.

For a government, it is their responsibility to ensure happiness. Now for happiness to take shape there needs to be equal demand and supply. Of course that is Utopia if perfection is sought but the closer the balance in general everyone is happy. Now if Sports Betting is legalized that balance of happiness shifts to a minority. Because only a minority see the fruit of their odds calculation and the rest who miscalculated their odds wins depression. Already as it is we see many broken families, some send their relatives to the loony bin, while others borrow, beg or steal to make up their losses.

The word "consideration" to legalize Sports Betting should not even be thought off by a government which stamp and brand Malaysia as an Islamic State. I mean seriously what are you people in the cabinet drinking? The millions in estimated revenue from legalizing Sports Betting is surely to be used for damage control more than anything else. Imagine the destruction in public property over some sore loosing gamblers, the rising crime rate because of more people will beg, borrow or steal to fund their addiction to calculation of odds and the moral degradation of children having to return to families that are no longer there.

So when all hell breaks loose what would be next? Too much sad people? Lets legalize prostitution and drugs. Too many babies thrown away? Legalize international child adoption. The streets aren't safe to walk anymore? Legalize firearms to the public? Hey~ now we wont be too far off America!!! 1Malaysia, Yakin Boleh (Hmmm...sounds like Obama's "Yes we can")!

Election petition for Ulu Selangor is a waste of time.

Fact: PKR are sore loosers. Especially when they have had a winning streak.

Fact: Zaid Ibrahim is a sore looser. Jumping from BN to PKR does not guarantee a vote of popularity.

Reflecting on the outcome of Hulu Selangor is a bitter pill to swallow. But to put it into retrospect BN has done the right thing in concentrating where it counts most. So for all kinds of allegations made by Zaid on behalf of PKR it wont make any difference. We all know the sort of election system we have is not entirely transparent especially the part where the ballots are counted but the outcome is reflected purely in the numbers. 1700 plus votes is a lot to loose by and to come up with that figure the recounts are many.

The PKR camp surely made a bad call in strategy somewhere that they deserved the results they got. Putting Hulu Selangor aside they should be concentrating the by elections in Sibu. BN has done just that for Hulu Selangor where they took the loss in previous by elections and made decisions where it counts. Zaid should know a petition could not do much thus he should just continue campaigning for Sibu with the rest of the PKR jing bang.

If PKR were to dwell in this then it might look like a landslide victory for BN in Sibu where BN has been so dominant in Sarawak for many-many years. Get over it Zaid and put energy instead to better use. Strike that attitude as null and void, it is wont be valid in Sibu.

First things firsts. I am not a Hulu Selangor voter. So that settles that I am merely an observer from the outside. BN got the much needed boost and PKR had to swallow a bitter pill. The speculators and me included keep asking what went wrong for PKR? I could not agree more with Mahaguru. Perhaps this time around BN beat PKR by candidate to candidate.

I don't think that will change much in terms on how BN intends to rule. But the outlook may indicate some form of change for the better and perhaps Najib took the task to choosing a candidate very seriously. Now it just remains the fact of how many more like Kamalanathan does BN have in their roster. Because they need every single one they have to win back 2/3 majority come next General Elections.

For now it is time for those in Hulu Selangor to cash in on the campaign promises. BN better pay-up or their Kamalanathan might just wet his pants and weep silently.

Hulu Selangor and Zaid Ibrahim

The political career of one Zaid Ibrahim can be said as a roller coaster. But to judge a man solely based on hearsay is wrong and unfair. However the sources available to the public and especially those in Hulu Selangor is neither promising or promoting so now the people in Hulu Selangor need to just hold their breath and mark X on the ballot paper when the time comes.

Hulu Selangor hosts a parliamentary seat and is a great deal to both the government and the opposition. It means one mouth and opinion more in terms of vote to the various tabled legislations throughout the year. Which may be what determines the future of the country and the rest of us Malaysians in general.

As usual the by elections held so far since the General Elections are always sprinkled with controversy, name calling, taunting and ridiculous accusations bordering child play. I do have to figure out why place a man who has no relation to Hulu Selangor to contest? For the people, they do not know him. But just for the fact to have an experienced lawyer in their side in parliament is the objective of the opposition. Which seems to prove that Karpal does not give that edge anymore.

With BN poking fun at Zaid for his gambling, drinking and other liberties that has yet to be proven true on all accounts.... the salvos maybe intensely firing but at the most it sounds like just empty farts. We know that lawyers are essentially professional liars with fat pay... one day they can defend a single mother for her rights to her children and another they can defend a serial rapist that raped that mother in the first place. So indeed Zaid might just be the man for the opposition.

Zaid ceases to realize that he is indeed the pawn in all this. From the days he was a minister he was used..... and now in Hulu Selangor he is used again. So a lawyer with no morals and principles will happily lap and wag where the money is offered just as long he stays alive, rich and with some consolation of power. I feel sad and sorry for the voters in Hulu Selangor where both the ruling party and the opposition is not seriously attending to your needs but more to have a bigger slice of pie in parliament.

It is a simple concept.... APCO rendered it's service for a price which the government paid for a marketing plan for a more harmonious Malaysia. To me there is not a problem when APCO is Isreali owned or did anything for the Isreali government. It is on that basis that the opposition crying foul over the 1Malaysia concept and the campaign for public awareness I say is flacid.

It would not make an inch of a difference too if lets say the government engaged a local PR and marketing firm. It is a just a business deal to render a service to get a public message across as fast as possible and in the most efficient way possible. As usual with the parliament deciding to debate on this issue rather than issues like GST we the rakyat should be aware that it's our tax money they are using to sit on the bench and argue about something so senseless. So that is a total waste of resources and effort.

But the opposition is very well known for their tactics to balloon a petty issue. Rather than question on the morality of spending RM77 million over a slogan why not try to figure what can the next RM77 million can be used for the wellbeing of the rakyat? This all again boils down back to Anwar who apparently still commands international scrutiny over everything that the government does against him.

On another note of claiming there are Isreali spies in our security forces defies belief. Come on ~ what could possibly be the reason for Israel to plant their agents in the country? If sambal belacan is what they are searching for than they wont find any in the armed forces. They should try Chow Kit instead, they might even get a nice discount.

Owh Bung~ Afraid of wife is it?

Yeah~ well as they say men would always want more than they can handle especially when it comes to women. So in this specific case of Bung Mokhtar it is simply not surprising. But one can already tell that he is a cheeky fellow since he made that remark in parliament "Mana ada bocor? Batu Gajah pun bocor tiap-tiap bulan juga." So what is really funny is that the way he admitted to polygamy with Hot Rod Zizie Ezette. Which we can surely guess the hush-hush approach to his marriage is to avoid awakening the dormant beast of his lawfully wedded wife.

However with a few snooping reporters setting their intelligent reconnaissance techniques to good use and fished out Bung almost freshly wet. Obviously it does not help when he appeared along side his vixen at a popular local awards night. I find this entertaining not because he is a politician with a celebrity second wife but more to the fact that how scared men can be of their wives when the itchy crotch question come to mind.

So what is the resolution? Obviously Bung had his "First" night with his new wife. So going in and out of court does not really do much.... he would obviously go "home" to vixen rather than get pummeled by his first wife. But all this could have been avoided if and only if Bung stood up strong like he did in his pants when he laid eyes in Ziezie and be a man and tell his first wife his intentions to marry another.

Now, all Bung can do is hope and pray that his old wife would not sue the daylights out of him.... which all of us know that has a slim chance of not happening. Good one Bung..... I guess your secret "Bocor" anyway. Hahahahahah~!!!!

The topic is actually a very stupid question. But somehow it struck me this morning like the flat side of a knife on garlic. Slightly teary eyed I murmured to my self "why not?" But lets look at the competition. Where I work there is not really much of a competition. However it's a place where the adage "Know none, do none" applies even when it is the job scope in the first place.

It has come to my realization that foreigners are idiots. At least some of the ones I have worked with are. However the management thinks they are highly skilled and very hardworking. Yes indeed they are skilled.... specifically in bullshitting all the way to Timbuktu.

But the management thinks that hiring foreigners is a good marketing exercise. That carries a significant amount of brownie points to utter "We have an experienced international team". Wow! That sounds mighty impressive in pre-bid documents and presentations. For that fact we locals tend to get a bit left out in the job market. Especially if the international resource is from India, Indonesia, Thailand and other random 3rd world nations.

Now back to the title.... of course I would like better pay! But does that mean competing with incompetent foreign labour with shit as brains and an ass for body? Let me state this clearly.... working for a MNC is all swell. But working in a local firm that employs so called professional foreigners can be a pain in the nether regions at times. Of course some are honest~ but is the cost justified for their expertise?

To us locals this is where these foreigners are ass holes. First, they know nuts about our culture. Guys dont hold each others hands for any reason in this country unless of course they like to polish each others knobs. Second, of course they know English.... but they cant speak, let alone write complete sentences without confusing a 10 year old. Yet we have to take them into account as valid competition. Why? Because these bastards get paid so much more just because they hold passports of a different colour.

Look, if they are good and I mean really good I won't give my two nuts a chance to question how much are they paid. But if the merit on pay grade is made based on "international" status then kindly make a u-turn for the nearest Malaysian border.

So YES I would want better pay simply based on my merit that I know my shit and I am a proud Malaysian. Now for all the overpaid foreigners who think they are that great just take note.... not all locals you work with are stupid. So give us hardworking Malaysians our well deserved money please and get the hell out of our country.

Thaksin the terrorist?

Thaksin the current man of the hour in Thailand. Seems that his supporters follows as he says unconditionally. Which is a very worrying thing. The clash of civilians and soldiers shall always result in a very obvious outcome. Someone will end up dead, more will end up hurt and more will blame each other who was responsible for it. The leaders don't really do much but shrugs and gives press statements that no one gave the order to kill.

Great. Thaksin has indeed proven how influential a leader he is to his band of Red ants. But the question remains... is Thaksin a terrorist? TO a certain extent I do think so. Once a national hero that has fallen from grace and with that many supporters can twist into a monster that frightens the public. Not to say the least all he wants is fresh elections to satisfy his ego self that he does not have the support of the whole of Thailand.

As Malaysians, we have to take into account that Thailand is a neighbour. Also along the border there will surely be some influence spilling over. Is Thaksin's influence strong enough to prompt a move from his supporters at the border to act to his bidding? If so it could be that Thaksin is terrorist material after all. I say our armed forces should keep a vigilant eye at the border gates and surrounding areas. We wouldn't want a war plot brewing on our doorstep.

For ages and I mean ages I have seen my bills grow from just one during my good old bachelor days and now to more than I can mentally count. I wouldn't even dare to start on how much I have spent on bills alone. Of course there many sort of discounts out there but there is always a catch in some mouthwatering deal.

I have changed cell-phone plans over the past 5 years more times than an apple tree can grow apples in a year. This is all so I can save a few bucks off from the cheapest cellphone plans. To a certain extent my manual labour seemed to work.

Don't let me get to my credit card bills. Owh, they are just a pain. Wondered why I had to pick up the cards in the first place. Perhaps I was just naive and jumped the gun when picking a plan. Should have just compared credit card plans and see which offers the best rates and service. But yeah how could one digest all the information and filter in their heads on which is good or not? Who reads the fine prints?

So as I was ambling along online finding good deals being the cheapskate and underpaid I am, viola! I might have just found the solution. Now why haven't someone thought something like Billshrink earlier? Finally someone with the same thoughts as I did but actually made a service out of it to serve the greater good. Looks like I can now keep my hard-earned underpaid money!

Police logo has Allah and Muhammad.

This is based solely on my observation and my logic, which has got me thinking for a bit and came to this point that it is inappropriate. If anyone has noticed that on the logo of the Royal Malaysian Police there at the top of the crown is Allah and Muhammad. This has to be referred to the fact that since it is the ROYAL Malaysian Police and the monarch in this country upholds the religion of Islam that this two words are designed into the PDRM's logo.

So from that thought I bet all those in the police force are carrying this logo on their attire for duty in various forms of patches, badges and pins. However I would like to highlight that the police force consists of all races and different faiths. The non Muslims might respect that badge as it is a logo of their duty and job but might not know how to respect the fact that the logo carries 2 symbols that is very-very important to Muslims.

No, I am not mentioning this to cause an uproar or some outcry over this matter but I am just curious if the members of the police force actually respect this matter in their day to day duties. Muslims do not place anything that has reference to the holy Quran on the floor or places that puts the contents in disrespect. That is why it is improper in practice to wear any form of jewelry or trinkets that carries even one holy word from the Quran.

It is just a concern and my two cents.

This 1 of everything is getting on my nerves. It is completely understood that as a nation we are striving to be together in doing everything. You know the "Muhibbah" tagline from yore. Well it is the same thing but updated for marketing purposes. So expect to have 1 in everything from the government. 1Malaysia, 1LRT, 1PASAR MALAM, 1KID, 1ISP, 1Satellite TV, 1SCHOOL, 1Corruption, 1Nepotism all also lah got 1.

But the government or lets say the ministers dont understand is we dont give a fuck what all this campaign / policy is called. The execution is what we want to know and judge. So we heard of the national KPI which how the grading is done is not being made public enough. The rakyat should have an avenue to give their opinions on the various government policies.

Referring the the latest debacle in parliament where Khairy and Anwar traded puns and accusations and other spit and spats we are not at all convinced that anything can be done. So many campaigns and policies and none are followed trough with a hard handed fist.

Back to the 1Sport, 1 Student thing... nice marketing touch. But seriously does the current time spent on sports or physical activity sufficient? Less than RM5 per child per year allocated for the development of school sports? That is not enough. There should be more ways than one to integrate sports into the curriculum. I remembered playing football for English. The trick was to only converse in English throughout the game. Those caught cursing or uttering in any other language are penalized by doing push-ups and to stay on the side-lines for 2 minutes. It was huge fun and funny too.

I do not blame the educators on their lack of creativity. I put the blame on the system that trained them to become educators. One can only teach what they are taught. Which makes perfect sense on the quality of sports at school level. The good ones are cherry picked to be in the school team while the others are not allowed to explore other type of sports that are not main stream. I guess education will always be second fiddle in priority.

OKU Parking: Malaysia apparently has plenty self proclaimed "disabled".

I would like to apologize first if this post offends the disabled. In no way my intentions is to make this group feel disrespected. I am referring to the recent woes of the disabled community. It is understandable that the hardship that they go trough daily bogs down their spirit but I do find many persevere the same or fair even better than the rest of us born with complete functional limbs.

However, some tend to choose to be disabled though their definition does not at all fall within the provision of society norms. I am ranting about those who deliberately park the vehicles in designated disabled parking plots. Somehow I don't think that this country has an education system that is entirely a failure. Thus how come we find very often that parking spaces for the disabled are being occupied by morons?

Perhaps they define disability a bit differently. Perhaps stupidity or lack of brains is a disability. Just have a look see at hypermarket car parks for instance. Driving along to find a parking spot one could not help it but be enticed to park in the spot reserved for the disabled. Just as when that thought passes and conscience hits us in zips a vehicle into that spot and out comes a perfectly able adult and sometimes the entire family of well groomed healthy looking specimens of their parents. Then in your heart you start cursing with the occasional mumble that escapes uttering somewhere along the lines of brain defect and retard. Only if they were really retards then it is forgiven but 99% of the time they are not.

Imagine how would a disabled feel? Already they have a hard time coping with less than perfect limbs and the awkward co-ordination to maneuver their vehicle in the crowded parking lot only to find that the disabled parking space to be taken up by someone which is perfectly (at least on limbs) healthy. Life is a bitch this disabled must think and continues to find a parking spot which he or she does eventually but is about a 100 meters away from the entrance. If they are wheelchair bound then figure that the poor person has to hop out of a cramp parking space and haul his walking aid or wheelchair from the trunk. Honestly if I were them I would have just parked my car right up at the entrance.

Of course my description does not entirely tell the whole story but I hope my dear readers get the picture. It is not a nice thing to do and the disabled already have a tough time living. So what harm is there to make their life easier? They never asked to be born or caught up in a mangling limb altering situation and finding a normal parking spot does not add up to your parking fee hours anyway. Believe me, in many ways the disabled community are the most motivated and gifted individuals in society. They take life with more courage than you muster every morning to get out of bed (for some of us that is very hard to do) and yet we either unconsciously or deliberately make their life even harder. Tsk tsk tsk.... shame on you Malaysians.

Turmoil for Bum-Oil

The house of cards of white and blue that Anwar built seems to be slipping off. With just one MP less than DAP PKR is set to be relegated in the PKR coalition. BN has every reason to be happy for obvious reasons that they can see a brighter light at the end of the next GE. But that will be counting your chickens a bit too soon.

So the question is not about the PKR coalition but more on who has the right to lead the darn thing. Anwar is already tangled in some lubricating mishap (either if it is true or not it does not really matter) so this would serve as tipping scale as to what needs to be done to resolve the imbalance of head in the opposition coalition.

DAP will have a very valid reason to claim the coalition throne but it wont be an easy fight. I bet PAS would like to have a say in it as well. So, unless everything is kept civilized all hell possibly can break loose and BN can have their long overdue field-day.

What is this back stabbing? Come on it is bloody politics. Back stabbing is a culture and political reasons moot the point that back stabbing is a valid tactic. Nothing can be called foul in this slick bum oiled game. Again the rakyat will be left with no choice. Again the country wont be heading anywhere and again I might just as well spoil my vote for the next elections.

Why would locals want to work in Nasi Kandar joints?

Are Malaysian too picky for their own good? Or there is something lacking in the Nasi Kandar and Mamak business? Some do wonder why locals do not want to work at these places. But do the business owners realize that perhaps they do not offer enough opportunities?

No doubt if given the right amount of pay rate many would come flocking to work at Mamaks and Nasi Kandar Restaurants. However there is only so much money can be offered, and I dont think these places take their worker requirements and standards seriously. Let us take the a fast food joint as an example. Why do local want to work at Mc Donalds, Burger King and others? The starting pay is not that good but there are benefits and career prospects.

Now, what does say.... ABC Nasi Kandar has? 3 working shifts, open throughout the year, no proper employee enhancement program, let alone a structured promotion policy. But some of these Mamaks have multiple branches. Some as far up North all the way down South. Revenue is i bet higher than some established fastfood franchise and still employs foreigners with meager skills and even worse communication.

Now if these eateries were to just change their policies slightly and manage their worker professionally then I but slowly locals will start to take notice. Especially to those who are interested in the business. All it takes is a little effort.

BN wants Kelantan. Pas has and still wants Kelantan. That is old hat news, so what is the same difference am I talking about? Actually I am referring to the news on BN's "New Strategy" to obtain Kelantan and leave PAS wondering what happened. The boffins of BN decide to call it 2B. Sounds more like a pencil than an actual strategy itself. However what BN claims that this strategy would work because PAS is having it's own internal problems.

BN somehow diagnosed that PAS has bugs in the form of cronyism, nepotism, and corruption. Who else would be more of an expert at that to diagnose that the opposition party has those problems but BN right?

They do seem upbeat (BN) because a recent political lecture saw 5000 people attending. Mind you, BN supporters wont even turn up unless they at least get something FOC. So the yardstick of 5000 in attendance makes BN feel very optimistic. That is however just a fraction of a fraction of PAS supporters. In fact from what I know, PAS political lectures gets attendance by the thousands every time.

Not that I am a PAS supporter myself but, I am very sceptical with just a spur of brilliant political strategy (or con job, whichever one would look at it) would shift Kelantan to favour BN. If it was just that simple, BN could have done it a very long time ago. But we all know too well that they failed terribly and perhaps they would chalk up another failure soon.

Lotus F1 revives Malaysian F1 Dreams.

It looks set now that Malaysians can once again be proud to be associated to the FIA F1. Not too long ago we had a shot in the form of Alex Yong but with some problems obtaining sponsorship the exit was done quietly.

Now the think tank of Air Asia Tony Fernandes and our own young blood race driver Fairuz Fauzy of the Mofaz empire, we Malaysians can be proud watching the race on weekends. So what if Fairuz is just a test driver, many top F1 drivers started as test drivers for F1 development teams before graduating into the race proper teams.

However I am very much puzzled by Petronas who opted to sponsor Mercedes instead of Lotus. Lotus is Proton owned thus makes perfect sense to support local interest. Anyway, after the first test run it all seems alright for a team that about 7 months back was just a wet dream. Looks like when we Malaysians put our foot down to do something it pretty much happens.

Honestly I can't wait for the season proper to start. I dont really care if Lotus is at the bottom of the point rankings, but at least they can finish every single race in the 2010 season. That alone is a pretty awesome achievement.

The Trial: The Sequel

This is like a bad sequel. In fact it is a very bad sequel even before the idea of a sequel started. It is bad to have been charged in court for sodomy once... now Anwar goes trough it all over again. I think that is a world record there.

Something that I figured over such cases is that it must be a trend thing. Not enough with just normal adultery, we just have to go one step higher.... Sodomy. I would not pass judgement since there is no point until proven guilty but the possibility can't be denied too. It's like show business.... we have powerful politicians in the so called case of Brokeback Mountain. If this was Hollywood the production would be in epic proportions.

Happily said the accused seems not bothered. Why should he? It is a sequel, so it would be a piece of cake. However this time around I think the public knows that this is a tiring and long case. Chasing semen, swabbing asses and testing mattresses.... every single towel inspected. But what is this all for? Just to send one old man away for a long time? How much will it cost to keep this case running?

Trust me, no one would care. It is just another Anwar Sodomy case. We heard that once too many times already. Can we move on now? Seriously..... I think there are single mothers who are more deserving to get child support than this back breaking case.

High Performance Schools - Property Appreciates.

Now we have "High Performance Schools". Sound spiffy good eh? But is it really all a big deal? Well to parents yes it is. And when parents want to give the best education possible they would do anything. Change careers, stop having affairs, stop thinking of sports cars and other money consuming activity just so that the fruit of their loins be the best investment they aver made.

We had the run of "Smart Schools" which a lot of companies made a fast buck and the project turned to dust in no time. Sad to know and see that our education system is somehow brought to a flee market rush. Could there be a light at the end of this "High Performance School" tunnel?

Maybe.... but it is for certain that these schools would bring more benefit to the property sector first. It is just marketing hype after all. Does it mean those who can't afford the areas where these odd power schools are situated will be left with stupid children? That is left to wonder even more.

Lets put it this way, as parents wouldn't you want your children to be smart in every way possible in the most normal way available? Does it mean that the "normal" schools are a breed for future stupidity and incompetence? I serious think it does not. How can one expect a perfect stranger to teach all there is to know about growing up? Unless you want your children to be a thick text book. That is pretty daft if you ask me.

All schools are equal by right. They carry the same curriculum.... with teachers trained in the same public system. So what is with the fluff? Well it is just so that there is a so called a valid reason to dispense the nice round sum of moolah. What a a genius! Make the good schools even better but neglecting the rest because they are not performing. How to perform if there is not enough resources to go around in the first place?

Well at least the teachers will see their property bought with government loan appreciate in value. Nice.... very nice.

It's Friday. Come midday things might just get ugly. This issue over the use of Allah in a Catholic publication is causing every other Christian some problems. Must I also add that some Muslims are idiots too. Don't they know that predominantly there are 3 sects of Christianity in Malaysia? I bet they don't so maybe, just maybe some morons decide to torch a non Catholic Church last night.

If it is the Catholics that caused the problem why bring it to the Anglicans and Protestants? Owh~ yeah they are all Christians. Duh. This is where our education failed, unless one takes the extra effort to learn how many major divisions in Christianity are there. It is very similar to Islam where predominantly there 4 schools of taught. But I guess who bloody cares anyway.

The ignorance of both Muslims and Christians in this country are really making both sides look like idiots. Which for a fact that the Courts could have avoided but the lame judges decided to allow the use of Allah in a Catholic publication. All due respect to the courts but the official religion on this country is Islam. Why? Because the King the royal house are Muslims. So the consideration for the verdict should uphold the constitution.

So we now have a torched church~ the wrong one at that!!! So what now? Someone is going to burn down a mosque? Want to try that? After that what? We exchange torching each other's place of worship just because it is an eye for an eye? Can't you see the pointlessness in all this?

To those who burned down the church, bravo! You just proved that you are not only ignorant but also an enemy of the state. Provoking unrest in the general public. Those who are thinking of burning a mosque will undoubtedly be no different than those who burned the church.

The authorities should reconsider on not allowing peaceful protest after Friday prayers. They should instead protect all churches and mosques. Let those who want to protest do so. In the end they will get tired of all that shouting and marching and eventually all will go home and wait for the next Friday to do so again untill this issue is resolved. I don't need to tell what would solve this issue right? Unless of course the authorities are a bunch of wankers themselves.

Allah, Selangor Anthem & Khalid Ibrahim

I figure someone would make a silly statement sooner or later. In this case I must hand it to the MB of Selangor. Yes, Allah is indeed in that lyrics of the Selangor anthem but I seriously doubt that it refers to God in general. What prompted him to give out such a statement beggars belief.

He is a Muslim, a leader to the state of Selangor and politician. So this is the part where he is playing his role as a politician and might just forgot that he is also a Muslim. What is the proof that Allah can be used to refer generally to God? It does not state in the Bible. So if it is not used in the Bible why should it be used by Christians?

Muslim prophets have biblical names.... but those are never used in the Quran. Moses? Muslims use Musa, Abraham? Muslims use Ibrahim. See... it is not similar character to character at all. Now, this MB of Selangor better get his facts right.

The Selangor anthem refers to Allah as Islam is the official religion of the State and not because Allah is referred to God generally by all. Is he trying to make peace? If he is, this is not the right way to do it. In fact with that statement he has just added more problems. Bravo I say!!! Bravo!!!

9 Years Reign Ends.

It came with great glee when I went trough a local new paper and read that the 9 years serving VC of UiTM has retired from the post. Of course as many Malay / Bumiputra loyalist would claim that he has done a lot for the Malay / Bumiputra higher education. I have to agree to a certain extent. But still the institution is still not of world standards as it may claim to be.

Anyway, this is not a personal lambaste. So I shall leave that matter to just that but instead would be interested on what his successor has planned. Dr. Ir. Sahol (pardon me if i get it wrong) as far as I can remember preaches Bumi centric issues as well (duh who is not in UiTM?). But it would be interesting to see his approach which I hope is fair and not as much as spoon feeding Bumi youths.

First things first, please give due credit to the lecturers who deserves a raise and a promotion as apposed to it being limited to certain cronies to the administration. Don't tell me there is none. Everyone knows and it is an open secret. Just be fair.... is that too much to ask?

It does occur to me that if someone who has nothing to loose, that person could take on a cocky demeanor. Not entirely am I implying that our Ex-PM is so but think of it as a post retirement enthusiasm on his part.

Yes, my thoughts about this matter is fairly simple. These are the people who the Rakyat has chosen to represent them. For many times MPs has taken attendance in parliament very lightly and most recently the opposition nearly got the better of them. It is simple if you are not present to cast your vote for a bill then it is an even bigger sin than not voting during the General Elections.

Imagine that a country driven by the house of parliament needs to be constantly vigilant and aware that votes carry a bigger responsibility and not just a show of hands. Civil servants where saved by a whisker of votes (3 to be exact) to pass the budget that included their pay for the entire fiscal year of 2010.

What would happen if that was not passed? Expect people resigning from the civil service in a blink and the country will then fall to turmoil. These MPs have to realize that their main responsibility is not to attend dinners and functions even if the free food is that good. Who would call them to such food fest and celebration if they did not carry out their duties anyway?

BN is obviously in deep trouble and the opposition nearly capitalized. Which in all due respect is to never underestimate the opposition. Let alone one led by Anwar who certainly knows the technicalities of parliament like the back of his bottom.

The many times he has been called to court and he did not turn up. What do you think happened? Obviously if one has done something wrong it would make sense to go into hiding. But a man such as RPK who many times caused controversy surrounding the Malaysian political scene has always stated his sources are true should not be hiding away. It contradicts to what he has been doing all the while.

Has RPK called it chicken? Or he has been harassed or blackmailed by someone not to reveal anymore dirty secrets? Perhaps he was playing a game that he knew would need some swift exit out of the country. Whatever it is running will not solve anything.

For all the facts that RPK has dispersed to the public he should at least be responsible to own up to whatever misinformation he has shuffled trough his nifty fingers. What is for certain is that RPK has been out of sight for a very long time now.

No longer am i intrigued by the general way of doing business with the government. The deep dark way has seeped into every facet of getting things done period. The way the government awards projects to their dubious contractors are not only a waste of public funds but also a bloody pain to carry out and complete. I do not know how is it in other countries but this main contractor, sub contractors and sub sub contractors has got to bloody stop.

Politicians may be smart to talk with all kinds of frostings and bullshit. But the even smarter ones are businessmen who are forced to conduct their dealings with these politicians simply because it takes too long or nearly hopeless to go trough the normal process. On top of that the "Jaga Anak Ikan" mentality is actually incurring higher costs.

Just pick any projects awarded by the government and I can bet you 100% that none are bribe free. Sure-sure now the SPRM is very active and to the extent of zealous in catching all this bribes but again SPRM is not entirely impartial and the definition of bribery has taken many forms.

Another aspect is that these main contractors I believe buys so much lunch and dinner for their political contacts that it could feed a whole impoverish village for years. Now can you understand where I am getting at? Concentrating so much on getting a project but not really bothered on the quality, time and resources that is spent in actually completing it. That is why we see the government spending like idiots simply because they are idiots. A RM11,000 laptop for the farts sitting in parliament.... what is that for? They need to do dot net programming and auto CADs is it?

In all my honesty I implore those private firms thinking it is a worthwhile effort to buy these idiotic politicians food for favours. Stop it, because they are very well fed enough to be sleeping in various talks, seminars and meetings to drool over overly expansive IT hardware dreaming of becoming rich and powerful one day.

I question sometimes how someone can make a public statement and try to make themselves sound intelligent and miserably fail time and time again. The subject matter here is in selling cigarettes in no less than packs of 20s. The stupid reason is so that it would be harder for minors to buy them.

Duh!

In case they forget... many shops do sell cigarettes in loose sticks. So please tell me would the strategy work entirely? Or there is by divine intervention that buy selling in larger packs these kids will give up? No, they can start sharing to buy a box right?

The form of packaging would not give an impact that is sought after. It is the sellers that needs to be monitored and legal action taken if they sell to minors. This could be the case of following just because other countries are doing it as well. Follow the herd~ yes follow the herd!!!!

The current ISP war is raging between TM and P1. The concept of marketing is somewhat lewd but it is funny. There are some complaining that the advertisements should be censored because it carries a double meaning. Hey, if you get it you get it lah~ if you don't then you are naive.

But seriously between both services there is nothing much to it. Both have their own problems. But seriously the service which the ISPs in this country is giving is utter bullshit. Relatively our internet services is still expensive comparatively to the speed what we are getting. Don't get me started on the downtime.

Infact I have not been paying for the service since I suffer more downtime than actual usage. In other words I am fed up. I say potong all lah~ just visit the nearest mamak and order a teh tarik and enjoy their free wifi.

I am wondering why our forensics are very fickle in their undertakings. Why would there be the need to do a second postmortem if the first one was done properly? This case of Teoh is leading to a big mess and seriously indicates the quality of investigation. When one suddenly comes and gives a contradicting statement the story changes all the sudden and everything has to be re-done.

So the body will be exhumed yet again.... prodded...opened... and prodded some more. When can a man rest in peace these days? Especially if involving a suspicious death. Sometimes the law can be a constrictive thing. In this case a gathering of 100 people at a private home. However only the ex-mufti was detained but not those who attended. But the police was mere assisting JAIS~ so they say. I find that hard to believe really. Why would JAIS request the help of police detain that man? Couldn't JAIS have done that themselves? I feel like there is something fishy going on. But well~ how they run their operations is non of our business especially a humble blogger like me.

The upset is always when somewhere along the timeline when we hear a price increase of this and that all the sudden and blame it on the government which is suppose to keep tabs on the market forces. Well, let me tell you this~ do you think they have all the bloody time to bother about every single sen of yours?

If Najib wishes to see that his party gains an amount of quality then it should always start with him. So indeed UMNO might be moving in the right direction (for once) but in comparison the opposition has improved so much more in such a short time span. The reforms which are suggested sounds very interesting. However there are some attitudes that are very hard to beat. First is the Malay supremacy crap. Come on~ is there really such thing to begin with? If there were any it died a long time ago during the downfall of the Malacca Sultanate. Second, this youth / putri thing is a total load of crap. Can't we just have one UMNO? Why must one political thought be segregated by age? Third, for the love of god please stop spending millions on useless conferences and other events that only benefit UMNO members.

A victory in just one By Elections could never be a yardstick for voter's confidence nationwide. It is just to show that particular constituency supports that party. That is all. Some believe that leaders are born while some have valid reasons to believe that they are trained and educated. I would say both are somewhat true. In respect to Tun M and the 22 years he raigned as PM I have great admiration. Not because he was PM for so long but for the fact that someone who could be content and complecent he choose not to and in the end gave up his seat with dignity for a change.

I can bet my Ringgit that not many leaders are willing to do that even if they are given a 50 year term. They would want to stay 50 more perhaps for reasons that retirement gets them out of their comfort zone. Like many a transition of power of other countries that are controlled by a rigid system such as the United States people tend to loose patience after awhile. So it is either you get outsted or you get "whacked".

Good reason to change leaders is so that new ideas can see the light of day and just like clothes ideas can be in and out of fashion as well. The delivery of ideas also needs to change as no 2 deliveries for one idea provides for the exact same outcome.

To translate to the current batch of leaders that have served for too many years my sentiment goes the same to them. If there is not a marked improvement that they make at the end of every term they should very well know when to bow down and out instead of waiting for their curtain call. To the likes of Nik Aziz and Sammy Vellu the time has certainly come and passed. But it seems they prefer to be like a stubborn stain and ride on sentimental values helped largely by their sentimental supporters who are too afraid to rock towards slighty more choppy waters.

The fact of this is evident. We see things not moving anywhere to the most part but in some instances it may be moving backwards. Of course there needs to be a transition. The task and responsibilities of a leader is not something to be taken lightly let alone to be passed on like a can of baked beans at a camping ground.

What I feel that makes a good leader is not only in the ability to manage resources but also to rejuvenate and know when exactly to drop the sickle and call it a day indefinitely. Good leaders has to be alert not only to the environment but to themselves. Because if the environment wants to move forward but the leader cant do so then he or she is holding up everyone else. When things come to that event then a good leader becomes a selfish leader in a blink.

Amusing turn of events this is. Just earlier this year to chant Makkal Sakthi would get one into trouble with the authorities. Well soon that would be legal and the BN led government will shout it out loud proudly too. Yes it is surely something unimaginable when the street protest took place sometime ago.

I do laud the initiative to make Makkal Sakthi a proper political party. But for them to turn to the BN coalition is actually a bit of a disappointment. They would indeed give a better fight if they are the opposition and gives a level playing field and BN will have a run for it's money. Perhaps there was a change of heart from the party leaders which lead them to think that if they work with the coalition in power they would get it easier. Logical enough to me~ but gaining something I bet the party lost some as well.

It is also a sign that to have another Indian Party seems to give tell-tale signs that MIC is not really holding up to it's baton as savior for the Indian Malaysians. Looks like Sammy would be around for a bit longer to ensure his party get what it wants or else it will just seep trough to the young gunners chanting Makkal Sakthi.

With the choke hold on the economy relaxing a tiny bit could we see a spike in job openings? I have been monitoring the various online job sites and new job openings are a bit scarce in general. Unless you place your self dirt cheap of course, but who does? Again if you are beyond desperate I have nothing else to say to you.

I do believe that to some extent some of us a very loyal to our employers. Perhaps it is because of certain benefits or the precise strategy aligned just so that one can leap frog to higher positions in the tree. Which of course takes years and years of hard work on most cases. Dirty politics please stamp your mark here.

But just ask someone about job satisfaction almost all the time they say is money when in fact it is actually time (workaholics need not apply here). What drives a person to be loyal towards their employer? It takes a certain amount of security and perks. So money may not be the reason half of the time. If you can agree with me it is always an external factor that determines loyalty.

So from my insistent observation outcome of employee loyalty can be defined as money divided by time multiplied by perks with the result of that squared off by satisfaction. Yes, try calculating that and come up with a definite answer if you should stay or otherwise. Of course that is an objective approach, which many of us take a more subjective approach because it is simpler and bangs the buck on the feel good factor to individuals.

So if you are faced with a tough decision of should you stay or not, you make take either one of the two methods I have given. Not that it is full proof but it surely beats the hell out of flipping a coin. Then again at some point it is almost always about the money.

I can't believe such lies. For one how could PAS claim that they are good friends with other parties in PKR. If it is true none should have any disputes with their partners in crime. One thing is for sure PAS has since compromised it's stand the moment they joined PKR. For benefit in one way or the other but it seems that they are very capable in mingling.

Now the issue of certain PAS division wanting to split from PKR. It could never happen because if divisions were to act on their own then why be part of a party in the first place? It is notorious of any political party that it is for gains in one way or the other. The many times the calling for "To Serve the People" is simply bollocks. Nothing is for free and even if it is free it still costs something somehow.

Even within BN on party will tell the another party to mind it's own business. Take the latest MIC party elections as a very good example. Tun M was told to bugger off and indirectly other BN component parties are told to collect their own laundry too.

It is just simply a fact, no matter how tight tow parties seem to be it is just for the benefit of cheap media attention. Well go on ahead. Live that lie and lead your people to it.

I was presented this question plenty of times. But before the answer never seem to be that important to me until recently. We have X amount of time and an X amount of money. What it is normally is that we get an equal amount of money based on the amount of time put in. Now, it is simple common sense that everyone can make money regardless what they do. But without the time put in it is impossible to make a single cent. Makes sense doesn't it?

Well, the government has allowed civil servants to take up a second job. Which if I am guessing correctly that as long it does not interfere with the actual working hours it is fine. But seriously, we have only 24 hours per day. It does not matter is you are rich, poor, weak or powerful, good looking or your face looks like a mash-up of Bush and Margeret Thatcher. So where is the time to have a second job, in fact where is there is enough time to manage anything else in your life?

It strikes me as odd that no matter what you do everything is charged as per hour basis at the basic level. Now what we need is not more money as one hour can only be saturated with the money one makes but we actually need time. So wee see some people starts work at 8am and ends at 5pm. Some do so at 9am and finish at 6pm. Some take the extra effort to do an extra shift. Some sacrifice not to take their annual leave so as to be compensated in monetary value.

So what do we actually need? More money or more time? I would choose the latter because it presents me with more options than say an increase in pay of 20% but still stick to the hours. Predictably more and more enterprises out there offer a so called passive income system. Or the common term is let the money work for you instead you working for the money. However the biggest hurdle is not what we can do but what do we want to do. To do that requires a leap of faith to some and obviously sacrifices. So honestly what would you pick? Time? or Money?

What does it mean when Malaysia is yet again embarking into F1.

In all the turmoil in the global market some very rich and powerful Malaysians think they should get started into an F1 team. Well, for one I can say good for them. Second of all let us be reminded that this should not be just a marketing ploy. Although the PM has mentioned it plenty of times as quoted in the formal media. Perhaps the Pm does not want to explain in detail what else a Malaysian owned F1 team can do for the country. Perhaps just not yet.

Also it is not surprising that Mr. AirAsia @ Tony Fernandes is team principle. Which consequently he is also the initiator to this highly volatile investment. But what does it mean to the rest of us Malaysians? Would the tickets to watch the F1 in Sepang be cheaper? No, it has nothing to do with the team. Would this mean local brands who can afford the advertising have their brands paraded in 300km/h feather light cars? Yes.

Seriously, it would be a good consideration and oppurtunity for local brands that wants to break the international market to gain exposure just as how Mr. Tony has done for Air Asia in the Enlish Premier League. Imagine brands like Babas, Jackel and even the infamous Mc Curry on an F1 car? Of course it will be expensive and I doubt the brands I mentioned can afford it but imagination is where every success story starts.

I would not go as far as saying that it will be a Malaysian F1 team. Because it is not really. It is owned by Malaysian business entity yes. So in the mix there cannot be a pure Malaysian F1 team. We lack the expertise and knowledge which can be clawed back from smart investments and securing deals with the relevent experts in the sport.

Would it make it as good as how Honda and Toyota could? Well based on the expectations from the Lotus know how and Cosworth horse power we should be in capable hands if and only if politics do not play too much a part in it's management. I would love to see this happen and 10 years down the line the 1Malaysia F1 Team woul still be competing. Now that would be a mighty good thing.

Just to factor in what the rakyat expects and the reality of this sport, not everyone makes it here. The number that has faltered is a tell-tale sign of how bad things could be if a grave error or greed is simmering somewhere deep in the team's bowels. I would bet my money that with political intevention the team wont even last 3 full seasons and hundreds of millions just thrown away burnt forever in the asphalt of race circuits. Well if it is entire free of political satans then I can say Malaysia will be in active competition for a very very long time.

Indonesians demand for RM800

Looks like the cost of living for Malaysian families might just go up. Already Filipino domestic helpers go for a higher wage than their Indonesian counter parts so why not join in the bandwagon. Really if this RM800 materialize than it would not be according to the market demands since there is a minimum.

Another thing is at that cost per month we might see a lot of people sending their maids off. RM800 does not constitute for the cost that the maids incur themselves for food and lodging at their place of work. So the actual cost would undoubtedly be higher than what they are asking for.

For that kind of money we might just as well send the kids to a nursery. At least they will get an early start in education which I bet you maids do not do that well. In response to this demand I bet the market will in turn want a list of services that the maids will do so everything will be justified.

They would soon not only need to wash, clean and cook but other various duties will be included as well. The idea an off day has been a debate as well but I do seriously think it is very fair because maids normally work more than 12 hours a day. I am sure some sort of consensus can be met to see that both sides are happy. We do need their services and they do need the job.

It is good sense to first amend the ISA instead of abolishing it. But how it is amended would be under great scrutiny of the rakyat. So to me the first move is in the correct direction. Having a council to determine who gets in the inner sanctum of Kamunting would far more just than decision resting on one minister. However, the question arises of what if the top draws for this council is influenced by one party or the other making the verdicts one sided.

Lets just hope everything canbe as fair as it possibly can. Lets see what else is under review for the ISA. It's just that the waiting thing can be a bitch.

With the by elections held in Permatang Pasir finally concluded it is for certain that it is almost impossible for BN to take over from an opposition led seat especially if the candidate is from PAS. It is very notorious of PAS now to win any by elections just as long they held the seat previously.

Most of the time it is a very annoying thing to fill up. But sometimes this information is useful to properly coordinate conduct towards a person.

However it must be a good idea because then one will not pre-judge someone before meeting the person themselves. It gives the opportunity for a very fair view. Especially in interviews. But could it be possible that the trend will catch on in the private sector if the government were to decide on abolishing this? It is an old habit.... which extends beyond just clerical significance.

Often we see description for job placements that specifies race. Well, if the job in question concerns in tendering liquor or pork then it is understandable. But if it is not then why should there be specifics for race and gender? Well, in my line of work often the fairer sex do not last very long. Either the politics disgusts them or the work pressure it self is beyond what they can cope. Thus most of the time we have to specify gender and sometimes race~ since you know... our government has this Bumiputera allocation thingy.

So for just a simple form adjustments it actually rally boils down way deeper than one might think. So for this form to omit race and religion then we have all got to change our mindset. Now that is very hard to do since for generations we have been practicing to solicit this idea daily. So would this effort be useful? No, certainly not anytime soon. For as long there is the habit of race or religion specific preference then these forms will forever be used.

The Port Klang Authority are really in for it this time. Looks like the trust they had for PKFZ management has ended belly side up. Now it is for dead the PKA will be in for a sour of a time because of simply too much trust given to PKFZ.

Now what is suspected is that certain decisions was made without the full knowledge of the PKA. Or perhaps it is the "You leave it all to me, everything will be OK lah". It appears that it is not a practiced policy on the dissemination of information. Thus one party may say something and the received information evolves into something else.

What the investigation of this matter should include is all forms of communication done. Letters, memos and emails must be looked into to see any discrepencies. The correspondents then will need to be questioned for all the communication made between them.

Looks like this is far from settled and many more heads will roll.

This is from my personal account. There is a specific person in mind but nevermind about that. My arguement here is the motto. "Sail together or sink individually"? Now with a glance does that sound right? From one's motto a person could tell what sort of mentality you have and this confirms my suspicion that apart from being absolutely stupid this person is ignorant as well.

From someone's status in Facebook or Skype or something they post in twitter the character of a person can be clearly described in a short sentence. Proudly displaying arrogance and a self absorbed persona which naturally does not bring any good or friends.

Clearly such a person can never be counted on unless there is something in for that person. There is not a charitable heart in the individual or is there any forgiveness in him. Of course I can put this sentence in a positive manner but the way it is applied in this situation is simply what we Asian call as Kiasu.

If any of you have such a person within your office, you will not loose anything by not taking this moron into your team. In fact everything could just go wrong if you do. I can't imagine if such a thing is applied on a ship. It would probably sink the moment it leaves port. No man or animal deserves a person that is so self absorbed. When it is good they are there with you when you wilt they fly away from you. In the end it is best to say FUCK you..... drown bitch drown.

MACC: The thick skinned assult.

Many many issues of late that surrounds the MACC. With the one that tops the list is the death of a political aide. The reports so far from that investigation is vague~ there seems to be a lot of "maybe" in it all and those testifying cant be said to be conclusive to one say. Somehow in all this the MACC is getting the uglier butt of the stick. But since when being popular matters in their line of duty?

There has been many questioning if MACC is fair in what they do. In fact the number of people being investigated is claimed to be more towards those who appose the government. Well how far this is true I am not too sure but the press seems to prefer covering casses of the opposition with indepth commentaries as compared to those affiliated to BN.

For sure MACC could not be blamed entirely and at the same time it does not help being disliked either. In retaliation for investigating politicians MACC might even want to review it's methods. More because of getting sick and tired of being criticized rather than non effective investigation methods.

But who is lying to who really? One side say the other is lying~ the other quickly lambasts and refute the claims just as swiftly. Observers like the rakyat are just left the bitter bit of second guessing what is what and who did what. What is the outcome is immeterial because I do believe that Politicians are never clean. In fact to some extent politicians are meant to be that way. If not for dirty tactics then how to survive? It takes one to be one in order to stay as one. I just have to say if MACC really wants to go out there and do whatever it takes to get the job done then regardless of whoever says anything about them, they have to just get on to it. Guilty or not is up to the courst to decide and not MACC. Simple~ Investigate push it forward trough the system and let the law handle everything else.

But it is clearly stated in NST that morally what he did was not right. Hmmm.... what exactly it was I couldn't find it. but nonetheless Rohaizad says that he is ready for the insults in that respect come by election day.

Brave one that man but it is not like we are not accustomed to BN fielding someone who has a past they wish to forget. So now it seems that BN claims not to bring up the past but it is OK for them to bring up skeletons of their challengers. When it is the "cakap tak serupa bikin" things leave it to BN to devise the penultimate plot.

Safe keeping the Nation's fundementals so they say. What is the Nation's fundementals? Democracy? Which version of it? Their version or the rakyat's version? This race, religion and royalty matter is obviously overplyed. If in the first place the culture does not inhibit such things whould there be a problem? Looks like the root cause of such things is in the system itself.

So with pointing fingers to others there is 4 pointing back towards you. So just look at what the ruling party has educated all of us all these years. Those leaders that have come and gone all have racist prejudice.... some even went to threaten the royals to follow their demands otherwise certain benefits are withdrawn.

So what etiquette exists? What online rule of thumb to follow? What the hell is the minister talking about? Regulating is not the solution~ better leaders are. So don't just say and think one has a brilliant idea. Walk the talk then we shall see.

Wang Yung made a fortune in America and is estimated to be worth 5.5 billion dollars. Now this represents a problem now since he recently died at a ripe old age of 91. To all that riches there was no will left behind.

So the drama ensues with 9 half siblings fighting for their share. Honestly it is 5.5 billion for god's sake, definitely there is more than plenty to go around them a few million times. If I were the child I say just give me 20 million, half in assets and the other half in cash thank you. I'll live the rest of my years not having to work for anyone ever again.

That is what has been said by the Health Minister. Unless the teachers themselves are infected then the schools need not close. On top of that teachers are to check their students for symptoms every morning. Huh?? Would that work?

Alright there is no reason to panic (yet). But the trending has been up for the past week and the death count for H1N1 is a cause of concern. I mean we can't possibly wait till it reaches 3 digit figures.

There was a question should the headmasters be given the authority to close their school if they see it necessary. I think they should. Because to wait for approval from the district education office could take a long time.

I hope it wont be too late~

This is not surprising. What else is there to expect from such a government that we have? Somehow bloggers get the bad rep. It is a good bet that those seditious blogs are not owned by professional bloggers, but by those who knows a tiny bit of what a blog is and are fairly computer literate then do create a blog is not hard at all.

I could bet my left nut that these are hit and run bloggers. Well, like they only blog for the sake of just causing trouble. Instigators would be more accurate to describe these buggers that gives us bloggers a bad name.

So let them be investigated. But all they can do is catch them and throw them away in a detention camp. But their ideas and words are still out there in the world wide web. So the authorities can close them blogs down but I assure you more will pop up. It's like an infectious virus.

Are you in fear that your blog contains seditious articles? Perhaps one or two is not a problem. The thing is the authorities already know which blogs to target. So if you have yet to receive the call then it is most likely you wont be charged~ for now. So just clean up your blog or restrict access to the page.

Human Resources Minister Datuk Dr S. Subramaniam statement could make him a favourite amongst the low to medium income rakyat, but not to those running a company. I have to agree to some extent that Malaysian firms are neglecting their social responsibility but there are mistakes also by their employees. The culture here is very much different than lets say Singapore.

Raising wages is so easy to say than implement. First there are a lot of key areas to consider. One are the bosses happy how deep their pockets are? Two, are the bosses boss happy with his deep pockets? Three, Are the investors happy with their deep pockets. You see where I am getting at here? Suffice to say those bosses are actually never happy and can never be satisfied no matter how deep their pockets are. Then don't get me started on those who are power crazy.

Alright, perhaps there are companies out there that practices good KPI methods but again where are the priorities set in the policies? Heck I bet you that most companies do not have properly written policies and it changes according to the moods of those on top. Yet companies especially private limited ones are not governed by any specific laws. The employment act is still not complete and enforcement is very relaxed.

There was a move to have a minimum wage policy, but I guess that idea did not materialize since there was no word on it. If it is important for the country to retain local workers then we know the priority is to have that minimum wage policy. I guess that our human resources are not that important to retain.

Parents to face music for children's participation.

The recent ISA rally proved again to be something in vain. On top of that again there are those under aged who took part or facilitated in the illegal gathering. Now it has been suggested that the 44 juveniles that were detained, their parent are the ones that should face the music. If that happens then what happens to the kids?

I doubt that most of them are below comprehendable age, meaning they are too young to know what they are doing. I bet you that they do know what it is for and perhaps some of them their parents have no idea what they were up to. It is not like the kids walk up to their parent and hand in a permission letter to participate in an illegal rally right?

Unless of course that the parent knew about it and even encouraged their kids to partake in such things. Well, if that is the case the parents should be charged in court. I think sometime back when the BERSIH rally took place in KL there were juveniles involved and when the FRU started blasting their water cannons these kids were somewhat caught in the middle.

Now to these parents who know what their kids were up to and still allowed them to go, they should be in jail. Yes, why not? Responsibility towards minors are still rests on their parent's shoulders. But what about those who do not have a clue? Could there be truth that they did not know? Were these children doing things behind their back? This is what that needs to be investigated further. We dont want someone to be in jail for the wrong reasons now would we?

It's that time again when reason for purchase will be for novelty rather than common sense. Well not entirely.... it will help the environment somewhat. We welcome the remarkable Toyota Prius. But Honda beat it to the punch first with thier own Hybrid earlier this year. But with these two cars available are we that environmentally conscious enough?

Honestly I am not. One I drive a petrol powered vehicle. So does my wife. Not guzzlers but still burns harmful carbons and CO2. I don't separate my garbage either. But what I do is to turn off every single power outlets in my house that are not used. Honestly I don't see why the fuss is about burning less fuel. Unless of course the prices shoot up again.

It is kind of hard I suppose for a developing country such as ours to well limit the burning of carbon and the use of other natural resources. Plus it is not like the government has been doing really well in their campaigns. So how significant is it that Malaysians would buy a hybrid? Not much unless it is as a spur of the moment thing.... but those really are genuine, the Prius might be just the fix for sleepless nights.

There is one certain way for this country to go greener. Turn off the lights~ yes those decoration of lights in the city. Turn them off~ But then the tourist would not be able to see a thing. Or tell a tree between another tree. Hmmm... but the thing that irks me somewhat is the price tag on the Prius. RM175,000 to use less Petrol? Huh? I wonder what is the ROI on that thing. Thank you Government for the stupid tax structure.

Uncle Sam is really ridiculous. Although no longer in office but still he comes up with the most ridiculous things to say. Now he claims that investors will shy away from Malaysia because of the street demos. Huh?? Really?

Comparitively we have only a handful of street demos as compared to countries like Thailand, Indonesia, and some European nations. Yet they seem to attract investors like ants to sugar. I do agree that all this while a proper venue and outlet is lacking for protests. So the government should just allocate a spot.

We don't have riots and destroy public property unless being provoked by some henchmen of some politician hiding behind a tinted glass. Now Najib suggests to hold gathering in stadiums. In a way that is good because then our stadiums would not be underutilized but someone has to pay.

So right then ~ Sam is asking why the protest now? In case he has been living under those hair implants the issue about ISA has been argued long before Anwar was implicated by the you know who. So it was a right thing that Najib did not include this bad hair day guy in his list of ministers. Seems to be Sam is starting to loose his marbles a bit if not entirely.

For investors to come in all that is need to be done is not to entirely protect local businesses. Waive the policies that hinders fair competition and growth then we shall see local businesses pick up pace or die off since they are too weak. But of course then the politicians will die too~ since they are such a wuss and need protection all the time. Sounds like bad condoms to me.

It appears there are more and more money making blogs out there. How far the tips and know how is true can't be proven out right. But with such positive posts that we see very so often I can't help but the question could it be true. Well yeah all my blogs are monitized. but the purpose is so that it can sufficiently finance the domain and hosting. Thats it.

It this financial rut we live in now I guess many more are desperate to find ways to make more money. Can't blame them, survival is important. These blogs are would just revolve a few key words. Money, Make, Cash, and all that falls within the scope of making money online.

Honestly most posts do not exceed 3 paragraphs. Which I think it is just nothing more than maximizing keyword count. Naturally people would Google "Making Money" and the top blogs will be in the top ten list. So the blog is popular and many are clicking to see what is in it then find out there is practically nothing but bragging posts.

It is sickening and down right a waste of bandwidth. But yeah where is the gold there will be the golddiggers. Just like ants to sugar. So what now? Show me the money? Come on. Write something useful.

National KPI announced. Details 6 key areas for improvement.

From what is reported in NST the KPI developed is to evaluate improvements in 6 key areas in a moderate amount of time. Firstly as a rakyat I am happy that finally this is employed in the government. Second, it is crucial that all criticism and comments by the people or oragnizations are based on the details of this KPI set forth.

My concern is that let it not be only the 6 key areas in question that has concentrated efforts. Although the 6 key areas covered is pretty much what is important in pooling efforts to make this country a better place and efficient.

However at this point it has not been announced if the whitepaper for the NKPI will be released to the public to inform the rest of us how exactly the KPI is calculated. It is imperative that the formula should be made public so that the rakyat knows if the KPI is working or not.

The PM is fully aware that above all else his leadership will be judged by the people and not by his cabinet of ministers or by his peers of other countries. Thus the information to the KPI makes perfect sense to be released to the public using propper channels. Proper channels I mean not by blogs of ministers or MPs but officially trough the various government websites and portals already available.

It is also good to note that by releasing this information various parties such as public varsities can scrutinize the details and make further research for better understanding and for future planning. Key evaluation areas that are stipulated in the document can then be applied across other bodies in the public sector.

Remember, introducing KPIs is not a definite solution in improving services but it is a yardstick to base all future undertakings. One more query I would like to make is what is the definition of "moderate period"? Is it 3 years, 5 years or 10 years? In my humble opinion if it were to follow the same timespan as the NEC than it could be a case of too long and too late for remedy.

That is a big difference you know. Between could and should. It is between logic and humanity. Depending on what is the situation lah. But what premeditates the idea of what could be done and what should be done? If we add greed into the equation then it gets a bit more messed up.

Now decision making is not always an easy task. Some would prefer not to make decisions as most of the time it involves not only one person. We can take the most easiest of examples and apply this theory. If lets say you are a manager and you exclusively know what are the top management's decision whereby it is likely that either your staff will suffer a pay cut or being told to resign. What would be your choice?

Realize that it is up to you the manager to decide. If you are not willing to let off your staff then your department suffers a pay cut and that includes you. If you let off a few people, the one that stays have to do extra work but get to maintain their pay check. So here lies the truth of decision making.

Like it or not it is either you do something that you could do or should do. This here where your morals as a manager is determined. No one will know but you and your superiors. As far as the bosses are concerned it is either they lower their cost or suffer from a pay cut themselves which is not really what they are too keen about.

So the morally incorrect managers will lay off subordinates. Especially those fresh graduates that are too slow to learn and those senior executives that are deemed to be inefficient. Still it cant be entirely the manager's fault now is it? If the outcome is not favourable then generally all will be in shit load of trouble anyway.

Yet, any management book will not tell you what is right or wrong to do outright. It will only tell you the options of what one could do. So it could be said that morals are not instilled in those management books unless it is binded by law or regulations. Some say it is where religion comes in. Well yeah~ I suppose so but obviously that does not come into one's mind when their boss is staring at them in the face for answers. So it would be always to save one's arse first.

I could possibly term it as the arse burning effect. Where one could have done something instead of should have done something in order to save their hairy arses from the hell borne fire of their bosses.

UiTM Shah Alam and other campus in Klang Valley closes for H1N1 threat.

I just got this trough Facebook. In the light of H1N1 the main campus in Shah Alam as well as others in the Klang Valley will begin the mid semester break earlier. Starting the 27th of July till 2 August UiTM will be closed. A formal Memo has been released as of after Friday Prayers today.

This was the message sent trough Facebook:

Kepada semua rakyat jelata UiTM Shah Alam (main campus, Puncak Perdana, Puncak Alam, Klang Lama, Selayang, Seksyen 17) yang sememangnya menantikan kehadiran cuti advance, boleh la mencari tiket pulang ke kampung, UiTM umum cuti midsem diawalkan 27 Julai - 2 Ogos 2009, gara-gara ancaman H1N1. Times of great demand.

Very well we understand the economic rut we are in. Many have been laid off and I suspect many more to follow trough-out the next year too. But there are also people who obtained new jobs. Although not exactly what they want but it is better than no job at all.

Somewhere I read that undergraduates will find more job placements in the current economy. To a certain extent I believe that. But to which is always to the benefit of the companies that employ them. Why do I say so? It is simple really.... experienced workers are expensive and these bunch of people know what to demand for. It hurts a company's bottom line because the cost is high. What they need are just robots and minimal amount of experience.

So every couple of years what these private companies do is flush their man-power in keeping only key positions whom has the experience and expertise in managing minions. They kick out those that are not assets and aptly call them collateral damage. Sad but very true. In return they begin recruiting once more for fresh graduates to turn them to simple and inexpensive labour.

So yes times a re good for fresh graduates but many are not coached to be leaders. Simply because these current managers want to keep their jobs and ensure a predictable environment to manage. But I would call these bunch selfish and passive managers. They know their job and they do it but they don't teach and guide their subordinates to be more skillful employees.

Everyone wants to keep and grow their rice bowl. Very predictable, naive and selfish. So what about those who are relived from their jobs? Well they will be bitter of course and will built to understand that they are not to work for anyone anymore. Some will open some sort of business. While others with the lack of resources would just jump in line in the job market again.

Those who do built their own businesses are good contributors to the economy and add width to the cramp job market. So bless these souls for trying, but as many that are opened there are of equal numbers that go belly up. So this cycle goes on and on. To which there can be no end. But what is important to everyone is to persevere.

Yeah right, easier said than done. Not everyone works for the money all the time. I say only 70% of it is about the money, the rest is of other sort of satisfaction. But even this 70% is not definite. Sometimes one can be offered 20% increment just to stay on in the company but yet they choose to leave. The question here is why?

This one is not so simple. Put the dollar signs aside and dig deeper into the job scope. There are many forms of bullshit that one have to put up with. There is the office politics, that demanding and inconsiderate boss, or the lack of recognition for what one does to improve a department or company as a whole.

Honestly not many people gives a fuck of what others do these days. You do your work and I'll do mine and that is that. Of course it is more complex than it seems as detailed in many periodic publications with gaudy titles like "Keep the Bitch Boss Happy","The 7 Evil types of office mates", and my favourite "How to Keep Your Job and get a raise". Duh~ like try sucking his dick or her clit!

Well, it defines that these are the times of great demands. Of course it will never end and it will keep on rolling with more and more bitches and bastards annoying you every step of the way. Just bare in mind that at an earlier point they were once like you too~ slowly these very morons mutated into the monsters that they are now. Oblivious to others and devoid of compassion with the single mindedness of exterminating even an ant that is stealing their breadcrumbs off their desk. What to do? I feel sorry for the fresh graduates. They have no clue what they might become.

Must everything have a candle light vigil?

The death of a political aide, some politicians calling for a Royal Commission of Investigation and a very certain candle light vigil. Now this is the pattern of the opposition. In whatever the issue may be when one thing is suggested the rest will follow suit. It is like a package. If you ask me it is all bollocks.

I offer my condolences to the family of the departed and the lovely bride (now no more) and mother to be. But as usual everyone is taking cheap shots to thwart their enemies at every single opportunity. Why must there be a candle light vigil when someone gets thrown into the ISA, died, or held for questioning by the authorities? Isn't it such a waste of time?

Their emotions supersedes their gumption and most naturally would cause trouble of some sort. Most of the time more arrests and disruption of public peace. These people should act like the adults they are. You want to have a mass gathering holding candles for what purpose? Has it helped in any way? It is just stupid sympathy and the public would not really be paying that much of attention. Grow up and put the candles away, save it for your blackouts instead.

BN wins in Manik Urai. Morale booster ka?

True~ BN won. But the losers are sore and calling that the win was because of money politics. Put it simply they cant believe that they lost by a slim margin. Hmmm.... even if they lost by 2000 votes also they will cry foul anyway. So what else is new? But for BN winning in Manik Urai is a big thing. They have boasting rights for the next month or so and the BN camp can go on doing whatever it is they do feeling good.

But it does not change anything really. So PAS should just concentrate on keeping what they have and try to fit into PKR's plans. I seriously think this PKR thing is not really working well for all sides. That fuss in Kedah proves a point.

So it is back to business as usual and it is just a by election.

100 Days of Najib.

Critical thinkers will never think alike. By right they never should. It is perspective that holds the bigger picture but the argument is that the details are important as well. The plan is always perfect but execution is the failure. Well, I could sense that many were critical on Najib's first 100 days in office. However I do suspect it was not as critical as how many pressed their noses in on Tun Pak Lah on his first 100 days.

Critiques will be just critiques (me included). But I somehow do feel that Najib has a better grasp of things than his senior. It is either that or the way how the public is deviated from the main issues was cunningly done. What I do think is right is that the PM should be rated by the people as well as the corporate world. I mean it is only fair to do so and Najib can keep his KPI up as much as he is particular about the KPI of the public services.

I heard a host cum producer of a talk show being assigned a desk job since the audience of her show rated Najib a "D". Was it really necessary? I mean a talk show is just a talk show. It was the audience which voted not the producer. So what is really 100 days in office, did it make a difference? Somehow it does.

What this means is that Najib won't be a passing phase. The ruling party has lost ground because Tun M gave Tun Pak Lah a shot at running the country which I seriously do feel that it should be Najib all the while. Still Najib is not perfect and from my past posts I have mentioned that I hope Najib won't be PM. But it is substantially better now than when Pak Lah was PM.

So, Najib has pretty much got the basics covered in the sense that the people can see a silver lining in the clouds. Provided there are looking at the right cloud. Could Najib last another 500 days and improve his ratings? Could BN slip down a notch while Najib holds office? Enough tiny discounts and freebies. Now everyone has to work.... since there wont be anymore easy money after the 2nd stimulus package is used up. Now pray that the government wont change hands in the next elections. Because what this government now has promised can only be rewarded if they win in the next one.

Of course blame the execution, not the policy.

This matter that concerns English is pointed with the wrong finger. Education of Math and Science in English was first of all not planned properly in terms of resource. Now we have the PM saying that only a tiny number of teachers teaching Math and Science are comfortable teaching in English. Now... this is not the case that the students are having a hard time coping but it is the fact that teachers have a tough time coping.

Here I would like to raise the question on what is actually the content of teacher's training? If the training had a complete and comprehensive syllabus there would not be a problem where teachers are not comfortable teaching in English. We cannot blame the quality of students without first peeling the causes on the teacher's account.

Why is that teachers in the old days can converse very well in English? The current crop of teachers too can't be blamed. It is the execution of the education policy and the various programs that are not given much thought. The KPIs are not followed and a blind eye is given in regards of being lenient which now directly translates to the cause of the teachers themselves are not properly capable.

Having more hours for the English subject in school is not enough. Establishing an English Club for extra curricular activities cant do much because participation is not compulsory. Fine teach Math and Science in whatever mother tongue. Why not substitute it for History or Geography? What about Accounts and Economy? Moral Studies and Islamic Studies? Why not consider this?

Believe me the only way to master a language is to speak, read and write it as often as possible. Not relegate it into it's own subject of study. I bet you this, I can throw a coin randomly in a crowd of undergraduates and 9 out of 10 of them can't tell the difference what is past tense and present tense let alone speak good English. Honestly I worry with great disgust on the probability that my children and grandchildren will go to public schools and not being able to master the English language. Just to safe-guard the family and their future I might just resort to teaching them English myself.

50% carrot for selling Khir's House?

Ng Sue Lim surely knows an oppurtunity when he sees one. But a 50% commission upon selling the house of ex-MB of Selangor is too much. Now if truly one is a politician and is loyal in serving the public he should declare that the excess will be funnelled back to the state government for charitable cause or some community project funding for the less fortunate.

But what house of Khir's that could possibly be worth RM24 million? Really if anyone were to have property of that value it should be a commercial centre of sorts. On what basis was that figure calculated? Inclusive of furniture and fixtures? Or including everything that is of personal belonging of Khir's family? I have seen mantions in and out of it~ on what extravagence could a house be RM24 million? To me it could only be a castle and that house in question is not a castle by a long shot.

Here is a list of things a politician must do to be well.... a politician.

Give handshakes till your palm cramps up and resembles like a useless limb.
Smile - Regardless if one is happy, sad, mourning, mad even if suffering from hernia.
Able to say hello in at least 4 different languages. Mother toungue does not count.
The great urge to be seen in Continental cars~ (ok Toyota pun bole lah)
Get hands dirty by planting a tree in some development project that they have a share in.
Spends an outrageous amount on calf skins (the more exotic the animal the better) handbags and shoes for their wife or wives.
Try at best to send one of their child to a Varsity Overseas.
Walk for a couple of hundred yards in crowds of supporters. Especially if there is a Video camera of a local TV station around.
Either speak hopelessly in English or BM (Normally they get the pronunciations messed up)
Buying property and putting it under the names of their children, wife/wives, other family members.

Well of course there are tonnes more. But I am looking it from the point of view how sometimes regulations and laws imposed on these politicians are ridiculous and their lifestyle is not so great as one might think. Some are good but most are pretty useless~ which is apparent for the last couple of years. However they do provide some form of entertainment once in awhile. And it is totally hilarious.

There is a lot of cultural essence shared with coffee. Almost everywhere we go the coffee drinking culture was something that can be enjoyed from the rich to the poor. But the sexualy stimulating concoctions are truely a version that the market demands in Malaysia has perfected. Of course there are the Ginseng and other types of herbal tonics that claims to give man the almighty girth and stamina of a gorilla. But why the obsession with ego boosting performance?

It is culture that is perhaps the major cause for such drinks or concoctions exists. It has gotten so bad that erectile dysfunction among the most horrifc things that a man can just flip and possibly decide to commit suicide. Hance all these demands has to be met~ and businesses are scrambling to "suck" the market dry.

So we have really cheesy names for these miricle beverages. Mostly it has something to do closely with tigers, ships, roots and other icons that strikes the term big and strong. But honest most of it promisses more than what it can really offer. Most to most it makes one sweat like a pig and probably stink like one too.

I read somewhere that Malaysia is the 7th most horny country in the world. So I guess those who get get their gigs up cant be that many~ or perhaps those are not sexual preference specific. Whatever it may be this caffeine with additives business is getting abit out of hand and it is partially a con job. If you need an erection~ do plenty of excercise and a healthy diet. Or perhaps, your partner is not really doing a good job. Now think about it~ why we men get blamed when we cant get it on when the women seems to be busy getting spasms just from shopping? My point is the coffee is bollocks.

I figure that careers are built based on experience and charisma apart from the knowledge. However I am certain there are those who snake their way up because they are either too lazy to do it the right way or are way pent u with greed up to their nostrils. I believe many have taken this route and somehow maintained a comfy life at the sacrifice the careers of others.

I have seen many a type of managers in my quest in building my career thus far. Some were OK, none were great while most are just ass holes. The corporate ladder seems to extend to the heavens for these "gifted" individuals that they seem relentless in their pursuit for power and of course paycheck. But believe me they don't even deserve half of what they are earning.

There are a few types of bosses one should be weary about. One... he or she is the owh so nice so understanding but a satan in disguise type. He or she might be a very understanding boss, seems to smile a lot (in fact they are actually mildly infected with rabies) and does not boss you around that much~ BEWARE this on is a fast mouth. So fast that it makes chicken shit feel worse than chicken shit.

Next is the kind of Manager who is like Menopause but you swear they bleed from their noses. These are partial workaholics. Why partial? They only work when someone higher up has given he or she to work and lead a team and their very existence depends on it. Pethatic? You bet!!! These kinds are annoying and also love to call for a meeting for every single tiny thing. Owh and announces about that meeting like 10 times trough all channels of communications to the colleagues a day before.

Down this illustrious line of Managers are those who actually has nothing to do. Basically we called Inquiry Managers whereby they act as notice boards for their bosses. These bunch is normally those started working with the company since it started. They are essentially executives which were derived from minimal all no formal qualifications and are essentially loners. Lack social skills but tries very hard to fit in however fail miserably. And always always pay for everyone's drinks thinking that is a Human resource investment.

Then we have affair managers. They are legitimate managers by right but participate in extra-curricular activities during working hours. They are perverts to put it in the crudest sense but now some might have evolved into full blown extra marital affairs. The cost of their hobbies are borne by the company they work with and deceivingly relating all their extra merital affairs as business ventures. What are they really selling is actually STDs.

Following that we have the hyper happy favourite subordinate of the Manager. Not a manager in the actual sense but thinks he or she is some sort of the assistant manager. But they behave like managers so they fit into this group nicely in a way. What they do is also hardly anything at all. They tag behinds their bosses like baby rodents tailing it mother. Whatever the boss says they say correct without a hint of a brain. They will be the first to be in the office when they know big bosses are coming and they will be the last to leave so they can suck up to the bosses again.

Another type of manager are the ones that are relatively nice, looks alright but there is a deep dark secret. They are GAY and/or PERVERTS. Ok ok it is not my intention to discriminate but why can't they seem to be professional? Anything within the radius of 500 meters of the place of work is inappropriate for such sexual advances. But with some question I do think sexual harassment are seldom reported because the victim to some extent mildly enjoys it as well. So if someone teases and then there is a physical response that means it must be between 2 consenting adults. But at the office? Owh gross!!!

Well these are the sort of managers which I have encountered or stories that were told to me by friends. Hoever it does not mean that all the other "type" of managers are bad. There are good ones and I have had the pleasure of working with them. But if we are looking up that corporate ladder and one day see our self as a manager then please for god's sake don't be like the once I have detailed above. Character is good. Charisma is good. Charms is good but not the obnoxious blundering psychomaniac perverts that I have mentioned.

Are graduates everthing they seem to be these days?

Questions are often asked during interviews to fresh graduates. Among them are "Have you had any experience in working before?" or "What did you learn while in Uni". Somehow these graduates will purge some anwer regardless if it is true or otherwise. Well, they are a desperate bunch since looking for a job is so hard these days let alone to landing an interview. So yes some lie trough their noses.

But what seems to be a concern is not about those lies. In fact it is not really important that if you have a degree at all. Instead what knowledge that you have that came along after you have graduate is what all the employers there are finding out for. No I am not saying that education is not important or graduating is not important but there is a reason for all that jazz in the first place.

I know many graduates. Some of them really smart... Deans list and all but end up just furthering their studies for Masters and later Phd. I keep wondering what for if there is no work experience. And what is the pressure really to do Masters and Phd when one has yet to make their first EPF contribution. Can these future emplyees expect to get the same pay as their peers whom have just a degree but tonnes of experience?

These are the questions that puts those finding for placements in the industry in a limbo. Paper qualifications or experience? Of those scrolls cant beat the practicality of experience and yet sometimes policies bogs down career advancement because of the lack of paper qualifications. Employers are relunctant in investing in employee development because they are afraid that these very people that they sponsor will leave right after they have paid up their dues on the study grant.

So I do like to imply that some employers are Kiasu. They will hold key people for as long as possible but neglect the junior execitives and not offer them career alternatives. Each company must have a career advancement arm that plans the human resource enhancement in phases. Make it clear that their path has been drawn up and there is a real future instead of sweet promises of increament and incentives but at the end of the day it is all lies or partial truth.

What is wrong giving maids a day off?

Not everyone is capable in being bosses. However just about anyone can have maids and that gives them the oppurtunity to become bosses. For one thing they fail to see that taking up a maid is another scope pf responsibility. Just like every other business owner they have to think about wages, efficiency, resources. Maids are employees and not slaves.

I have met with maids that are given a day off in a week, some are given bonusses and gifts during the festive season. Now I do feel that only a minority of employers treat their maids like dirt. But since there is no specific law for house maids then there is no specific rule to abide to in treating them.

These maids toil for you when you are away at work. They wash your child's poop, do the dishes, wash the laundry, clean the house, wash your car and even help out at other relatives of yours when told. Now imagine we were given a job and the tasks given are not in our jobscope or contract. What would you do? Just because these maids are not educated in such does not mean their rights are at your mercy.

I loathe at the sight of employers leaving just one maid to tend to 5 kids. You see this scene all the time. The bosses will be happily shopping and the maid is left to tend to 5 kids at the back trying to catch up. Now if they are your kids you should be the one tending to them in your free time. Not spending the husband's profits in Louis Vuitton and Coach.

For that maids should be given fair treatment. Give them a day off for every 6 days of work. Give them propper working hours and rest times. Give them the medical attention and health check-up every 6 months or so. This is important as they are the ones tending to your food~ their health is just as important if you value yours. If you can't do all this then don't be a boss~

Nik Aziz & Hadi Awang: Is PAS cracking?

The only Islamic party in the country has before seemed steadfast in their cause. But with conflicting statements by Nik Aziz and Hadi Awang seems to be a looming problem if not solved swiftly. But I do suspect that their alliance in Pakatan Rakyat along side DAP and PKR is showing it's wear and tear.

I am not supporter of PAS but what I do admire is that this party is rock solid when it comes to their beliefs~ well not until they decided to band up with PKR and DAP. Which certainly has conflicting interests. But these so called talks with UMNO is not really a bad thing~ like they say "Keep your friends close but keep your enemies closer".

What seems to be of interest is what is exactly behind BN's motive to have these talks? So they say it is for a mixed government but having 2 masters to one horse would normally make things worse. Take the roman empire as a good example. I would simply disagree with this mixed government thing. Sounds more like marketing hype than something that is practical. As it is already, democracy is in fact a mixed government. We have the opposition and the government trashing it out in parliament although the numbers are at odds against the opposition but it is in fact a fair ground.

But I do believe PAS has their merit well sorted. Not all party leaders are respected as Nik Aziz is. Is it possible that BN is somehow plotting something sinister? I wonder what the roots of BN has to say about this idea and why are the rest could simply say YES to their leaders without a blink.

I sure hope PAS is not cracking, and lets hope BN can't do that in it's lifetime.

Some idiots simply do not know how to quit. A good example is this one by the name Nizar. Yes, that infamous ex MB of Perak. Now sworn in as an MP only he decided to come in in style (or is it the lack of it). Him all dressed in black and 6 others wearing headbands (looking like hippies) walked into the Dewan and sat down. Wait a minute, don't they have guards who look out for those not doing according to the rules? Anyway...

Nizar should as an adult understand that all that he could do was done. The system and law was followed and the decision has been made. The courts gave the verdict thus there should be no questions asked. In fact if he were to do what he did in the Dewan in court he could have be held in contempt of the court.

But yes, enough is enough. Nizar is good for the loony bin or a kindergarten. I am sorry...but that is the truth.

150,000: The number for English excellence.

This is the number that puts the greatminds of this country into a limbo. It seems suddenly politicians and educators seem to care about this 150,00 children who stand to fail their SPM if English is made a compulsory subject to pass. What seems to be the blind spot is that it needn't be an immediate implementation.

Of course resources as thus far is pretty tight. There are simply not enough English teachers to go around but I am baffled. We have TESL (Teaching English as Second Language) programmes offered in our local varsities. Now for these many years where have all these graduates gone? Were they not given the attention by the government to place them in the education of Malaysian human resource?

One solution is that this clould be implemented in a gradual manner. One way is that the passing grade for english can be lowered and brought up annually. Another is an intensive programme starting form 1 students to prepare them for SPM in the next 4 years. During these years also the ministry can pull as many TESL graduates as possible to fill in the positions needed. A 5 year plan should be very feasible and by doing that we wont have 150,00 SPM failures.

What should the government not do is taking too long a time to come up with a plan. Politicians and educators have to strike a balance.... but most importantly to make sure we wont waste our future resources. These kids need English and we know it. If the knowledge is contained within sanskrit even, we have to push so that we will master the language. SO, what seems to be the problem? Loss of votes? Loss of power? Loss of riches? The decision has to be made and it has to be made now. Sorry for those who fail~ but if everyone knows how important English is we wouldn't have this problem in the first place.

Eastern cultures earns a certain mystique. But nothing is more intriguing than the hocus pocus stuff. In fact if those of you who fancy Lat comics may remember many depictions of this culture. There was one on helping the Malaysian badminton team to win the Thomas Cup if I am not mistaken.

This ancient nonsense is still practiced till today which some tend to believe that it is real. Certainly I am a non believer but what interest me is that how could we in such a modern age resort to offenses and defenses with some jibberish and other smoked condiments?

Searching into YouTube just for entertainment purposes I find that many videos either depicts these nonsense or tells stories about those who "use" it against others. Of course how far is this effective must be truly be die hard believers. But the stichings of this activity is so deep that perhaps some believe they can't live without it.

We have politicians, athletes, artistes, businessmen and people just like you and me who subscribe to such a facility. The revenue generated per year for this Hocus Pocus industry might very well be in the millions per annum. This perhaps could rival prostitution and smuggling. However in return what the customers get is to most a bag of lime, some stuff to burn or bathe with. It might be something more depending on the services ordered.

As if a connection to god cant be made by oneself and the need of these so called gifted people is the only way. It is amusing really to know that those who are highly educated resort to such things and think that it helps them have an advantage over their competition. One side it is morally wrong and on the other it is totally bollocks that something like a chanted mantra could change god's mind on what it is suppose to be.

For the stories we read, hear and watch are indeed captivating and of course entertaining. But to be a fully developed nation how can we resort to such wastage of resources. These kinds of things are not investments, it is simply stupidity of the highest degree. But since it is generating a lot of revenue why not legalize this and charge these bomoh's tax? See if they like that.... commercialism would surely kill most of them since the competition will be so stiff.
